Message from the Ambassador

Dear Italian citizens,
Dear Pakistani friends,
It is with great honor that I assume my duties as Ambassador of Italy to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a country of significant importance for Italy and for the balance of South Asia, with which we maintain strong, multifaceted, and promising relations.
Pakistan is an important partner to Italy on a political, economic and cultural scale. Relations between our two countries are built upon a well-established institutional dialogue, growing opportunities for economic cooperation, academic and cultural exchanges, as well as the presence in Italy of a large and dynamic Pakistani community, which makes a significant contribution to the social and economic fabric of our country.
During my tenure, my objective will be to further strengthen this partnership by promoting all components of the Italian System in Pakistan. The Embassy will work in close coordination with the Consulate General in Karachi, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, as well as Italian and Pakistani institutions, businesses, universities, research centers, and cultural operators.
A key priority will be to support and expand Italy’s economic presence. Pakistan is a young and dynamic country, with a large population and considerable potential in sectors of direct interest to Italy, including energy, infrastructure, agribusiness, mechanical engineering, textiles, technology, vocational training, and sustainability.
Alongside economic diplomacy, cultural promotion will play a central role. Italian culture—through its language, art, heritage, archaeology, design, fashion, cinema, music, science, and education—constitutes an essential instrument for dialogue and mutual understanding.
Particular attention will be devoted to young people, students, academic and professional mobility, as well as scientific and technological cooperation.
Finally, I intend to strengthen and further enhance all consular services, both for our fellow citizens and for Pakistani applicants or users of our services.
I undertake this responsibility with a strong sense of duty, a spirit of service, and a confidence in the potential of the cooperation between Italy and Pakistan. It is my hope that, through shared, practical, and sustained efforts, we will further strengthen the friendship between our two countries and open new avenues of collaboration for the benefit of our people.
